Good Sturdy Reel
With 15 pound mono, you can bring in some big bass, pike, muskie, snakehead, bullhead, channel, carp or whatever huge is in your local city lake. It takes a beating. Just match it with a medium-heavy rod with an indestructible tip and you have something that can catch saltwater species, but remember to wash the saltwater off afterwards. I think reels like this let you fish more aggressively and without having to care about a reel that costs three hundred dollars.

Perfect reel for beginners and kids
This is a great reel for beginners that makes casting and retrieval super easy which eliminates some of the frustrating aspects of learning to fish.Bought these reels to replace the Zebco reel that comes on the dock demon poles for my 3 and 5 year olds. The reels are a bit larger which adds some weight but both kids were easily able to control the rods with the added weight. The 15lb test that comes on the poles has a large diameter so I immediately respooled the reels with 10lb test line (Zebco Cajun smooth cast). The reelâs push button is easy to depress and the line casts smoothly without catching on any internal pieces of the reel. The retrieve is also smooth and the spin dial drag set works well (not a star drag set next to the crank but a plastic dial set another the push button).The only issue with this reel that I found is the reel housingâs front cover is a little tricky to get to line up and screw closed. However, this is an issue I can live with because on the kids poles I donât need to change out their line very often.

Release problems
After about 2 months of use the release started to let go and stop the cast. Now about 25% of my casts are stopping and a few have hooked me. Works pretty good the other 75% of the time.

Great Spincaster
Well made, functions very well. I volunteer in a free fishing program in Philadelphia that uses Zebco spincasters. The way they are sometimes inadvertently misused by learners, Iâve become adept at disassembling and untangling the line inside. But they are sturdy, so I bought a couple to use along with my spinning reels.
