Perfect for Keeping My Pool Clean!
Iâve been using the SWIMLINE HYDROTOOLS Manual Vacuum Head for a few weeks now, and I have to say itâs been a game-changer for cleaning my pool. It attaches easily to my vacuum hose and does a great job of picking up all kinds of debrisâwhether it’s small dirt or larger leaves. The brushes on the bottom really help scrub the floor, making it look spotless.Itâs lightweight, so I donât feel like Iâm struggling to move it around, and it glides over the pool floor smoothly. Sure, itâs a manual vacuum, so you have to put in a little elbow grease, but itâs super effective and gets the job done quickly. If you want a reliable tool to help keep your pool clean without spending a fortune, this one is definitely worth it!

Excellent Gind
I was in need for a manuel vacuum head for my swimming pool. I searched for a cheap price at my local pool supply stores. After looking on Amazon u was shocked. I had found the cheapest priced vacuum head j had came across. After purchasing the vacuum head and putting it to use, it performed the job I was looking for. Great deal and good product.

Surprisingly effective suction.
Ordered to clean tree debris from bottom of pool after storms.Worked surprisingly well collecting pine needles, tree bark and small twigs.Easily maneuverable on the floor of my pool. There was a spring in the packaging that was not attached and there were no instructions to identify its purpose but the vacuum attachment does its job and the spring is in the ‘will need this one day drawer’.

Works perfectly but get spring in place
Not much to dislike. This works as it should and moves easily across pool. The spring is fairly intuitive but a pair of needle nosed pliers and flat head screw driver makes the install easier. I would suggest the manufacturer put this picture in with head.

Worked good, neck is thin
Lasted almost two seasons. Works good but the neck plastic is super thin. I expected it would have broken at the pivot pin, but it broke on the actual neck where it isn’t solid. For the price I’m not too upset though.

this little guy did an awesome job!
First I should say I’m 70 and female, I think that’s important to know what’s behind the pole too. I have a play pool 18 x 35 and about 5′ deep, so no deep end to deal with. This only has brushes that go around the outside edge of the unit. It’s wieghted so you can even hold it against the side walls and it stays put too and also constructed of durable plastic. I just popped off my pool brush and popped this on, added my pool sweeper hose and turned the skimmer off so all the suction went to this little guy and began just pushing it around the pool and it sucked up everything on the first pass. It did take some muscle for me to get it to move in some places (I think some areas of my cement are a bit rough from deposits) and combined with the fact the suction value was fully open on high might also made it harder too (I’ll try turning it down a bit next time), but it sucked up every bit of the dust/dirt from the wind and leaves no problem. I have a Hayward pool sweeper that was not working and I had ordered parts, but I didn’t want to wait and let the stuff sit on the bottom of the pool and chance it staining like before (had it acid washed, change filters and start up chemicals for 1500.00). This unit comes from Amazon directly and being a prime member I got it next day delivery! All this for this low price during inflationary times, that’s pretty awesome!

RUST! Let me set the record straight- My 2 cents.
See my 06/01/17 update below. See my most recent update!!My “2 cents” review and the facts. Nothing makes me more angry than misinformation so here’s the truth. First off, I bought this directly from Amazon, so there is no third party to blame or commend. At just under $15 and free shipping, at time of this writing, it’s not a bad deal. The actual outermost dimensions not including the handle, of the unit I received are exactly 13.25″ x 7″, this includes the wheels. Anybody that tells you differently, can’t read a tape measure. Second, weighted? should weigh more, I weighed the unit and it comes in at about 2 lbs. 6 oz. and I am being generous, my older one was heavier which kept it down, the heavier the better. The unit is flexible, but not as flexible as I expected, or compared to my previously all (mostly) blue unit from a national pool retail chain. Now, this isn’t all bad as I found out. The more rigid body seems to be a benefit to function, as it appears to prevent “vacuum lock” where my old one would “stick” to the bottom of the pool floor in some locations. This allows me to run more negative pressure to the vacuum head, and seems to clean more thoroughly. The wheels appear to be urethane, they are not, they are hard like PVC pipe. They aren’t any harder than most cleaners I’ve seen, but softer would have been nice. The hose attachment is nice as it accommodates both 1.25″ and 1.5″, there is also “swivel action” at the hose connector, which should help keep the hose untangled. Not sure if hardware is stainless, time will tell. I kept all the hardware from my old unit should any need replacing. Now, my last comment is regarding the spring???? At first, I thought that it was a good idea since when I clean the vertical walls, the old cleaner would float away from the surface sometimes, and this spring might keep the head parallel to the handle when going up and down. Well, that might or might not be the case, as I didn’t get that far in testing as when I first tried it on the floor of the pool, the spring kept popping the head up from the floor. Removing the spring seemed to be much better, at least for cleaning the floor. all in all, and depending on how long it lasts, I think it’s a fair price for what you get, I’ll keep it.Update 06/01/2017 RUST! All the metal fasteners of this product have rusted severely and now I have to replace them or face stains in my pool.Update 06/02/2017 RUST! I went to my local hardware store and purchased all new SS metal fasteners for this pool vac. Upon disassembly, it becomes obvious that the rust I suspected on the fasteners, is in fact coming from the internal weights! The manufacturer installed steel weights within the product. They aren’t rust proofed , so they rust. My old one had lead, which fortunately I held onto in case I needed them in the future for such a repair. I get that lead has all that bad stigma and such, but this manufacturer could have encapsulated the weights into plastic, etc., to prevent rust. My advice is this, buy something better if you care about your pool finish and your filter element, as this will mess you up for sure!
