Excellent product and even better gift
My wife and I love drinking new wines. For the longest time, I have been âold schoolâ so I choose to open our bottles with a manual corkscrew.Over the years people have tried to get us to switch to the electric wine openers but they either broke, were too expensive or didnât work too well. So when we go this one, I thought it was going to fall into one of the aforementioned but boy was I wrong.It is great quality and value for the price. So far its worked flawlessly and while I am still old school, I find myself looking forward to using it. This complete set would also make an amazing gift for the wine drinkers in your life.

This set consists of three primary components, each with their own internal battery and USB-C charge port. The largest is the corkscrew, which is plastic on the top panel and the lower clear section, and metal on the outside of the rest of it. You press the “down” button to insert the corkscrew and pull up the cork, and then when clear of the bottle, press and hold the “up” button to remove the cork from the corkscrew.The vacuum sealer is all plastic. Its purpose is to remove air from the bottle using one of the two included stoppers. I don’t know how well this does; if I ever can’t finish a bottle I suppose I’ll have a chance to try. This is one of those things that I think sounds good in theory, but in reality it probably doesn’t make as much of a difference as you’d want to believe.The aerator is probably my favorite here. It’s all plastic except for the spigot, which is metal. You attach the hose and lower it into a bottle, hold the glass under it, and press the button to start (and again to stop). It aerates the wine as it dispenses it neatly into the glass. When you stop it, it doesn’t dribble or drip, so you don’t have to worry about making a mess on the counter.Problems? Well, I maybe have a slight issue with the description claiming it’s “carbon steel”. Other than the corkscrew, the exterior of everything is just black plastic. I wouldn’t mind a nicer build quality for something that’s intended as a gift set.Also, on the plastic exterior for the vacuum sealer, the USB port hadn’t been properly cut out. About half of it was obstructed by plastic, right down the center. After some effort I was able to cut out that section of plastic with a box cutter, but not before some light damage was done (it works fine and charges now, but I did leave some scratches near the charge port. No big deal).Would I get it as a gift? I don’t know, possibly. I mean, I’m in my late forties. All of my friends have whatever wine drinking accessories they need by now. Maybe if I was 23 and I knew some people that were recently of drinking age, they’d appreciate this. But at my age, they either don’t have proper wine accessories because they don’t drink wine, or they have proper wine accessories because they do. It’s also a lot of little bits that are going to end up in a drawer somewhere, and eventually get lost.So maybe not. Maybe just a nice sommelier’s corkscrew and/or an aerator/pump sold by itself. Fewer pieces, no unnecessary vacuum sealer bits, just two things that can be higher quality because they’re purchased separately, and no little pieces to get lost in the junk drawer.But for someone’s drinking age birthday? Sure, this is probably a good gift.

This rechargeable electric wine opener set worked well when I had guests over recently, even though Iâm not much of a wine drinker myself. It does the job as advertised, though thereâs a bit of a learning curve if youâre used to old-school corkscrews. Personally, I still prefer the classic corkscrew methodâit feels more traditionalâbut this opener is rather convenient.The pouring aerator feature stood out as especially handy and was well-received by my guests. It seems like an ideal gift for the wine enthusiast in your life who claims to be just “tasting” the wines they drink all the time although if they’re “tasting” all day long, it’s no longer considered a casual taster but instead a snobby drunk who thinks they’re better than you and claim not to have a drinking problem. You know who they are! Add in an AA brochure with this gift and let the family Holiday “Fun” begin!
