HIGH PERFORMANCE – The heart of a good Spincasting Fishing Reel is in the line pick up system. KastKing Brutus Spincaster reel features a stainless-steel, Dual Pickup system that grabs slack line quickly so you can quickly be ready to set the hook or make another cast.
HIGH SPEED – With 4.0:1 gear ratio, KastKing Brutus Spincast Fishing reels will pick up line faster and save time in between casts. More importantly, you catch up quickly with fish that may make a run directly at the angler and eliminate slack in your line to increase catch rate.
SMOOTH AND DURABLE – Brutus Spincast Reels are built for smooth performance with 5 Stainless-Steel, double shielded ball bearings that make this the smoothest bullet reel available today.
REVERSIBLE HANDLE – Unlike most spincasting reels, the KastKing Brutus push button fishing reel features an amazing aluminum, reversible, double paddle handle with durable rubber grips that can quickly and easily be changed from left- or right-hand retrieve by simply removing the handle retainer cap and moving the handle to the opposite side of the reel. This important feature means that you can have just one spincast reel that best fits any anglers fishing style.
PRE-SPOOLED WITH PREMIUM MONO LINE – The KastKing Brutus Spincaster style spinning reel has 33% more fishing line capacity than competitive push button reels, which means you can make longer casts, fish for more species in deeper water conditions, and simply have a better fishing experience. It even comes pre-spooled with 160 yards of 10 lb test KastKing Premium Monofilament fishing line so it’s ready to go fishing right out of the box. Great as a trout fishing reel or bass fishing reel.

Nice looking
Weâre out of the box of quality seems good. The weight feels I put it on one of the polls. I had the functionality of it is great. The speed of it when you pass is awesome and winding out itâs good nice and smooth. Overall, Iâm all happy with this. Will try again next season and see if it can start pulling in some big fish for me.

Smooth retrieve, solidly built
My grandson struggled with other reels and this Kast King totally solved that problem. Just from the weight of the reel you can feel the quality of the build. The retrieve is smooth and the drag is easy to adjust, even with a fish on the line. Casts are 10 -20% further, and we’ve fished several afternoons now without the fun of untangling a bird’s nest. This product was a bit more expensive than previous reels we’ve purchased, but well worth the cost given the increased time spent fishing versus fixing reels. Strongly recommend this reel.

Great reel for all-purpose freshwater fishing
I’ve got some nerve damage that makes using a spinning reel a bit too difficult and I can only use baitcasters on “good days”, which are few and far between. I’ve taken to using my little Dock Demon for pan fishing and a trusty Zebco 33 for pretty much anything else – but I wanted more.So I bought the Kastking Brutus.I received it 3 days ago. First day out, skunked. Casts like a dream (even weightless stickbaits, which my 33 had issues with) and retrieves so smoothly and quietly that I couldn’t believe it at first. Yesterday, failed to set the hook twice because I wasn’t paying enough attention. Today I hooked one of the biggest fish I’ve ever fought – and the drag held up. It held up so well that before I could lower it the hook bent out almost straight and I lost the fish. I’m very pleasantly surprised by that… yeah, the fish got away, but now I know the Brutus can hold on until the terminal tackle gives out. Also caught some nice crappie.Pros: Easy casting, smooth and buttery retrieve. Can easily cast weightless rigs.Cons: Has some odd ‘catches’ when casting every so often. I think this is due to the absolutely insane line twist that it shipped with. It’s easily solved – take off the line, put new line on. I’ll be doing that tomorrow. I’d say every twentieth cast or so was spoiled by that line twist and odd ‘catch’ in mid-cast that stopped it cold or brought it snapping back to me. If you don’t want to take the line off and put new on, the snags and such are easily cleared, but you’ll be doing it fairly often. That might seem like it’s heavy on the cons, but honestly it’s not. Pretty much every reel that comes pre-spooled is going to have this issue and you shouldn’t let it be a deal-breaker for you. If you’re in the market for a quality spincast reel at a mid-tier price you can not go wrong with the Brutus. I’m tempted to get a second one to spool with lighter line.Edit: After a few fishing excursions I’ve noticed the handle, even at its tightest, is a little loose. You will definitely feel it while reeling in. Also, the line catching while casting was not solved by respooling the reel – it still does it, though not as often. These things aren’t enough to make me dock another star, but they’re worth knowing about.Edit, November 18, 2020 : Well, determined that the line ‘catching’ or ‘sticking’ while casting was due to an issue with the spool. It was ever-so-slightly out of line, which was likely caused with how I was storing and carrying my reels at the time. It has since seen some maintenance on a couple occasions and it works like a dream now. I have a number of baitcasting and spinning reels but this is the one reel I always keep on a rod, ready to fish with. Quite frankly I don’t know why they bothered with the Cadet model, it’s not that much cheaper and this thing is a freaking beauty. Maintain it regularly and it will serve you well.

Simple, works great, lotsa line
Sometimes, simple is best. I now own three of these Brutus spincasts and I am very happy w/them. They cast very well and are drama-free, which is worth a lot.The price has come down quite a bit. At $31 with a 5% coupon I do not know what is not to like. All metal around the spool, I am trying braid on the first one I bought, as it was time for some new line.I would like better instructions with the reel about disassembly to facilitate maintenance and lubrication.

Best Baitcaster!
The is the best baitcaster I have ever owned! I bought this for my wife, but I end up grabbing it in the boat all the time. It casts a mile and reels buttery smooth. I has cast everything Iâve tied to it like a champ. I will buy more of these!

Hands down high quality!
I made the decision to buy this fishing reel for the first time in 2021. I based this decision off of reviews as I had never heard of this company. It was an affordable reel that I thought would be good for my wife to use. I paired it with my favorite fishing rod, the Ugly Stik. This was the perfect set up for her to use. She used it for a couple weeks down on our dock and caught many fish until she left it unattended. It was snatched off the dock and lost in the lake when she got a bite. A year later my son happened to retrieve it with a cast net. I rinsed it off with warm water and a little dish soap and have been using this set up as my own now for the last two years. It still works like It did the first day. I am absolutely amazed at this reel and have hundreds of dollars worth of fishing equipment sitting on the shelf in my boathouse. If you are looking at this reel like I was several years ago wondering if it is a good purchase, do it! I promise you will be impressed. I donât write many reviews but after the last couple years of use with this fantastic product I felt compelled to share this story. I made this video a year ago and just now decided to make it public. Buy this reel! You will not be disappointed.

Good looking, well-made first reel for my grandson. Very happy so far.
This reel, combined with the pole, seems to be a great combo. As soon a my grandson took it out back with the weight to practice, it felt right. He’s excited and now we need to get out and fish.
